Available all year round, our Gite is a great place for your
next holiday or short break. The Vieux Atelier
started life as a small wool processing workshop - no one is sure quite when...
Later it was converted to a holiday home, although the attic still houses some
of the old machinery.
We have tried to furnish and equip our property
sympathetically. The contents of the house have been chosen to appeal to those
who appreciate individuality, character and age.
The accommodation is all on the ground floor.
| With fantastic views and walks from right out side the door,
you can be sure of a relaxing time here. We have local maps for reference, and can take you for guided walks
or just point you in the right direction. | |

The main bedroom has a beautiful and comfortable double bed, with
views over the garden and on to the mountains beyond. There is a large built-in
wardrobe and a chest of drawers. I am a collector of vintage French linens and
I love to use them where I can in the bedrooms.

The twin room has two traditional antique beds that have
been lovingly restored; I have the blisters to prove it! The double wardrobe has
hanging space, drawers and shelf space within.

| Here is a picture of the kitchen area, seen from the
living room. We've tried to retain some of its original charm,
including the large porcelain sink. The floor tiles are of a style and
pattern typical to this region but becoming rarer every year. I'm sure
you can see it presents a very practical cooking/eating space. There is a full cooker, washing machine,
fridge freezer and microwave. We have tried to provide the little extras too,
so you'll find a coffee machine, toaster, hand blender and other small
appliances. There is plenty of cupboard space, and good quality cutlery and
crockery to feed six for dinner. The dining area
seats four comfortably and it's not too far to hit the comfy chairs
after you have eaten.

The living area is positioned around the super wood burner
which forms an impressive focal point, and for bookings out of season,
heats the house beautifully. In summer, swing the front door open and enjoy the
view whilst watching the world go by. If you get tired of watching the dancing
flames or enjoying the view, there is also a TV and DVD/CD player. We provide a
selection of DVDs and a well-stocked bookshelf.

The shower room is clean and fresh, with a generous shower
and sink. There is plenty of hot water and we supply soft fluffy towels for
each of our guests.
| | The main bedroom looks into the garden and on to the hills. Depending on the time of year that you visit this wall is either covered with beautiful Wisteria flowers or if you're very lucky grapes to munch. | |
| The garden is lovely it's tucked away behind the house and accessed by a little gate from the courtyard. It has blissful views over the rooftops to the mountains behind. It is sunny all day, and in the height of summer the hazelnut tree provides welcome shade. When evening falls, the garden is lit both by solar and candle lights. There is a great barbeque in one corner - it's just the place for a long lunch or dinner. We must get a new picture of the garden this year it's much greener now as our planting has paid off. We've tried to make it an eating garden with lots of herbs, tomatoes and fruit bushes. It's a work in progress!

Here is a scale plan of our lovely little house. I hope it gives you some idea of the layout, and some context to the room pictures.
